  • Site owner CMS facility so that you can create and publish your own news / site updates to ensure your site content is updated.
  • Domain name fees and hosting for your site on fast, Australian-based servers.

Pricing for a standard P.A.Y.G website as above is currently $200 upfront (the site deposit fee) plus $39.50 per month for 24 months. Frequently asked questions.

Q: What are the differences between this and a completely custom-designed website?

A: Of  course, some compromises have to be made for me to deliver a pay as you go website – but, I won’t compromise on the main purposes of your new small business website. Namely, the site should be easy to find, simple to navigate and provide all the information your visitors require as quickly and as concisely as possible and look professional.

The only real compromise is that you have to select a ‘theme’ from my collection to base your new site upon. It is important to note though, that because your website header image, colours and fonts are customisable to suit your requirements – different sites using the same theme actually look completely different and unique. There will soon be a page set up with theme examples.

Q: I don’t know what pages I will need or what to put on them – can you assist with this?

A: Writing web page layouts and content is very similar to desktop publishing and most people don’t have the experience or skills to do this. When you signup for a P.A.Y.G site, I send you a document that has all the information you need to make these decisions and to help you with writing the content. Alternatively, if you need more assistance than this, I can get an outline of what your business is about, the services and products you provide and translate this into readable copy. How much time is likely to be involved with this work will govern any possible extra charges.

Q. What about photos for the site – do you charge extra for editing images?

A. The basic P.A.Y.G package includes the editing of up to 5 images to make them suitable for online display. It also includes creating a ‘header image’ for the site that will have your business name / logo / product or services image. If you require more images than that, there will be extra fees for this, but they are quite reasonable.

Q. I would like to have additional features like a product image gallery, changing adverts, a shopping cart or a slideshow of my companies products and services. What will these cost?

A. Enhanced site content like this (and many more including podcasts, embedded video etc) is certainly available – however most cannot be provided on the P.A.Y.G scheme. This is due to the complexity and time involved in setting up these features and the risk I take if you decide to abandon the project. However, some may be possible if you are prepared to pay a higher deposit – see the question about this below.

Q. How do you charge for extra work that my site may require?

A. Your initial site deposit fee is increased to cover the additional work, there is usually no change to the monthly payment figure needed, but this is negotiable.
